” To Gain More Knowledge and Experience Beyond Classroom “
ISACA Student Groups (ISGs) encourage education beyond the classroom by allowing students to network and learn from each other, and connect with a supportive group of professionals. While ISGs do NOT require ISACA Student Membership, an ISG gives students the opportunity to get to know ISACA by interacting with professionals at events sponsored by the university and the local chapter. By participating in an ISG, students gain knowledge and experience that moves them ahead of the competition when they graduate.
The ISACA Student Group at Institut Teknologi Bandung was officially formed and recognized in November 2016 by the ISACA International. The goal of the Student Group is, through student empowerment, to educate and make students aware of the emerging trends in the IS/IT Audit and Assurance, Security and IS/IT governance, standards, practices and certification with a focus on accounting and information systems. Specific the Student Group seeks:
- To promote the education of and help expand the knowledge and skills of student members in the interrelated fields of IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance;
- To encourage a free exchange of IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance techniques, approaches, and problem solving by students in association with professionals;
- To promote adequate communication to keep students abreast of current events in IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance that can be beneficial to their careers and their employers;
- To communicate to management, auditors, universities and to IS professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure proper IT governance and the effective organization and utilization of IT resources; and
- To promote the Association’s professional certifications and IT governance
- To collaborate and network with other ISGs from other universities.
